August 10, 2020 Fire Training Minutes

Training meeting Monday, August 10, 2020

  • Meeting called to order at 1802
  • Monica Walker introduced local Girl Scout group 3702. The girls presented the department with two boxes of Girl Scout cookies. The local group has donated cookies to all local first responders to express their appreciation for the dedication to their community during the last few months.
  • After the girls left Monica introduced the Active 911 application the firemen have on their smart device. She paged the firemen on the new application to make sure everyone’s phone was working.
  • She said the department will have Active911 for 4 months on a trial period. After 4 months it will be $13.00 per year per device.
  • Bob ask Cody to draw Primeland on the whiteboard from memory from the walk through at our last meeting. Other firemen continued to draw in street names, hydrants, other buildings, and the anhydrous tank. Bob ask firemen to locate and label overhead wires, hazards and the substation on the truck route. Firemen discussed staging and procedure if there is an anhydrous leak.
  • Bob discussed his preferred method and procedure for fire suppression in the hay storage barn.
