Training meeting Monday August 8, 2022

Meeting called to order 1803

  • Discussion on radio communications
    • Pager have been having issues with tone outs and radio traffic, static
    • First step will be to test handhelds and pagers
    • DeCaria will be the liaison for what might be the culprit for the issues
    • Would like to have our equipment checked to verify they are not the reasons
    • Sheriffs, City, EMS, and Fire all seem to be having issues with high camp.
    • Not having access to proper communications and being able to communicate with radios is a safety issue
    • If there is an issue with your page, get with DeCaria
    • Pagers are our primary way of being toned, cell phones and the active 911 app are not.
  • Tacket will work on Engine 4’s Cab system.
    • It is full of foam, but won’t light up
    • Should have time Wednesday or Thursday to work on it
  • Reminder to be aware when responding and on scene
    • Know the different names for locations can be called, ie Camas Rock Pit vs Kaschmitters
    • Resources on site, some locations have equipment that can be beneficial for use, like heavy equipment
      • Be sure to keep our trucks and equipment out of the way for safety
    • Weather – lightning is expected Tuesday through Friday
    • It is now harvest – keep your heads on a swivel
    • Equipment fluid levels checked on Trucks
