January 21, 2021 Board Meeting

Grangeville Centennial Library Board Meeting
Council Chambers-225 W North St.
January 21, 2021- 5:00 p.m.

Meeting was called to order by Meleah at 5:00 PM. Those present: Meleah McCulley, Brennan Wright, Carmen Sangster, Betty Nafziger, Susan Anderson (by phone), and Gina Sobrero. Absent: Dylan Canaday.

Minutes: Motion was made by Betty to approve the November 19, 2020 Board minutes, seconded by Carmen. Motion passed

Budget Report: Gina shared there is not much new at this time.

Library Report:
Stats were shared. Cornerstone is coming on Mondays.
Storytime is back (January 13th)
10 max/sign ups
Jan 13-snow
Jan 20-pirate
Jan 27th-ice cream

Summer Reading Theme-Tails & Tales
Started planning-4 weeks/2 events per week

Working w/Susan on My First Books grant -will apply in February ICL.
Rural Communities STEM grant is
Applied for 2 grants
Make it Mini grant-$1000 and swag bag. Grant has been approved. Staff will participate in classes.
Summer STEM grant-$500. Won’t know for a few months.
FoCL will be working with GCL for art contest.
Books for the underserved will be shared with Headstart.

Old Business

1. Strategic Planning: Set Vision Statement, Mission Statement, Primary/Secondary Roles
a. Motion was made by Meleah to adopt the vision statement: “Grangeville Centennial Library ignites curiosity, enriches lives, and cultivates connections within our community, the nation, and the world.” Motion was seconded by Brennan. Motion passed.
b. Homework for March meeting is to review the Strategic Plan to make suggestions for future planning review dates and review the Mission Statement for possible revisions

New Business

1. Updating Constitution and By-Laws
a. Review for March meeting. No Action Taken.
2. Election of Board Officers
a. Motions was made by Carmen to have Meleah as President, Brennan as Vice President, and Susan as Secretary. Betty seconded the motion. Motion passed.
