January 5, 2015 Regular Meeting

The City Council met in regular session on January 5, 2015 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

City employees present were Chief Drew, Attorney Green, Foreman Bob Mager and Clerk Kennedy.  Public Works Director McFrederick absent.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

MINUTES:  The meeting was called to order and the minutes of the December 15th meeting were approved as presented by Councilman Peterson, second by Councilwoman Grant.  Motion carried by a unanimous vote of the Council present.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:  The Library Minutes of December 18, 2014 were accepted on motion by Councilwoman Grant, second by Councilman Lester.  Motion carried by a unanimous vote of the Council present.

The Fire Department Report for December 2014 was accepted on motion by Councilman Lester, second by Councilman Peterson.  Motion carried by a unanimous vote of the Council present.  Councilman Lester thought there would be more information in the fire reports.

CONSENT AGENDA:  Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Lester to accept the consent agenda as presented.

1. Approve the following Boards and Commissions:

Library Board:  David Rauzi (2015), Brett Rogers (2019), Meleah McCulley (2019),
Dianna Higgins (2019), Shelley Dumas (liaison)

Planning and Zoning Commission:  Michael Cook (2017), Ed Eckert (2016),

Snowhaven Ski Board:  James Kingma, Jerry Hill, Judy Purdy, Pauline Sullivan,

2. Approve the Council Committees for 2015

3. Approve the applications submitted by the following business for pawn,
secondhand & junk store licenses pending payment of application fee.

Ralph Martin d/b/a Martin’s Antiques
Brian Perry d/b/a B & B Bargain Store
Sherry Joliff d/b/a Sherry’s Closet Treasure Thrift Store
Peggy Wright d/b/a Backstreet Treasures

ROLL CALL VOTE:  YES: Dumas, Winkler, Lester, Lane, Grant, Peterson.  The motion passed.

SNOW PLOW FOR DUMP TRUCK:  Foreman Mager requested permission to purchase a boss plow for the new dump truck for $6,896.87.  The total spent on the truck will be $29,796.87 which is within budget.  On motion by Councilman Lester, second by Councilman Peterson to allow public works to buy a snow plow for the new dump truck.  Motion carried by a unanimous vote of the Council present.

The meeting adjourned at 7:50 P.M.
