For Immediate Release
September 29, 2014

On Thursday September 25, 2014 at approximately 6:04 AM the Grangeville Police Department was dispatched to a report of a bomb threat called in by telephone to Syringa Hospital in Grangeville.  Subsequent investigation revealed there was not a bomb in the hospital.  Further investigation led to the identification of a suspect, Tony Lloyd Anderson, a Certified Nursing Assistant employed at the hospital.  On September 26, 2014, an arrest warrant was obtained for Mr. Anderson.  A short time later, he was taken into custody at Syringa Hospital and booked into the Idaho County Jail on the felony charge of making a false report of a bomb to the occupants of a building (Idaho Code 18-3313).  The investigation was performed by Chief Morgan Drew and Officer Wes Walters of the Grangeville Police Department with assistance from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Department and members of the Syringa Hospital Staff.

“We are relieved that there was not a bomb in the hospital and with diligent investigation were able to identify a suspect and take him into custody without incident.  The safety of our community is always our first and foremost concern especially with the recent events happening throughout the nation and the world. Threats such as these are taken very seriously and dealt with appropriately.” Chief Drew.
