Training meeting Monday July 28, 2025
Meeting called to order 1803
● 16 members in attendance
● Read the minutes from July 14th. No Corrections Approved as read.
● Urbahn’s retirement Party this Saturday. Look at the board, fill the holes. Party is at the Lions Park at 1700 on Saturday Aug 2nd, 2025.
● Everyone check and inventory their gear. If something is damaged, old, our outdated, Let the Chief know right away so he can get it replaced. He will be ordering equipment and supplies soon
● Check the Dates in your bunker gear. Report dates of your gear to the Chief. Gear needs to be taken out of service if over 10 years since the Manufacture Date.
● Inventory your pocket tools and supplies as well.
o You should have at a bare minimum in your pockets:
o Hose strap
o Heavy Wire cutters
o Flashlight
● If you drive an apparatus to the scene, you are the Engineer until relieved by another engineer
● Front Passenger is in charge of Comms and Navigation. Verbally confirm with Driver that you both are sure of the location of the incident being responded to.
● Passenger can run lights and sirens to free up driver to focus on moving the apparatus safely to scene
● Rural 2 is only pumping on an incident until scheduled repairs can be made after Harvest season likely 3rd week in Sept.
● Training on Pumping City 3 and City 2 at Frisbee Golf/dog area of Lions Park on The Truck Rte across from Jungle Gym’s. Cody Brown and Dean Peebler to Train and supervise pumping City trucks. Once you are trained, you get to train the next firefighter behind you. (Cody and Dean will supervise training.)
