Training meeting Monday March 9, 2026
Meeting called to order 1800

• 16 members in attendance
• Minutes read and approved

• Equipment Update
o Rural 2
 The pressure gauge is fixed
• Old Business
o 4 Gas Monitors
 Gabe presented 4 different gas monitors and gave some pros and cons to each
 It was decided to go with the MSA Altair 4xr’s, as Gabe if already experienced with them.
 We are going to get two of them. One will go in City 1 and Rural 4 as those two will most likely be on every fire scene we are at.
• New Business
o Jail Tour
 The door access was discussed. Most doors we got to in the event of a fire may be locked
 If we respond and kill the power the backup generators will kick in so those will also have to be turned off
 It was noted that there is very little combustible material
 Radio communication in the jail may be poor when the power to the facility is off

• After Action Report
o Syringa
 The cause of the fire alarms going off was the popcorn machine burnt some popcorn and it was directly below a smoke detector.
 They were advised to move the popcorn machine to a different location
 On Syringa’s alarm system they do not turn it off until we tell them it is safe to turn off
o Builders Supply
 Upon arrival it was discovered that they don’t have a fire alarm system
 The cause of the noise was an electronic device with a low battery in a garbage can at the Gateway Inn
 The dangers of bowstring trusses were discussed and everyone was made aware we do not go interior or on the roof if a building with bowstring trusses catches fire due to the very fast collapse time with bowstring trusses
• Training
o Gear checks and fill all foam tanks
