o Ryne Lothrop was appointed the treasurer by a unanimous vote by all the officers. Ryne Lothrop will be added as a signer to the P1FCU bank account.
o Jarred announced that GHS football is having a first responders/ military appreciation game on October 16th at 7pm. We are going to bring a couple of engines up there for it.
• After Action Report
o Highway 95 Mile Marker 249-251
Two fires were reported and it was determined by the IC that they were both out of our district and in Cottonwood Rural’s instead.
Rural 4 and Command 5 proceeded into Cottonwood’s district to investigate and help until Cottonwood got on scene.
At the time of the call no reported fires were found by Cottonwood Fire or Grangeville Fire.
o Deerwood Drive
The RP called dispatch reporting that their neighbor’s mini excavator was on fire.
The fire was extinguished prior to us getting on scene.
The cause was a blown hydraulic oil line that caught fire.
o North B Street
Grangeville PD found the house on fire and reported it.
Page went out at 1600 and we were on scene at 1603.
Upon arrival the house was fully involved.
Deck guns were used for initial attack while cross lays were stretched, and water supplies were secured.
After we had the fire partially knocked down, Bob, with Public Works, brought in the city’s backhoe to tear the logs apart so we could put the fire completely out. Bob also used the bucket on the backhoe to deflect the water streams into areas we couldn’t see or get water to.
Everyone felt that we all had very good communication on the firegrounds.
Personal limits were also discussed. Know your limits and don’t push too far past them.
Scene documentation with pictures was discussed and the idea of implementing helmet cameras was discussed.
It was discovered that our hydrant wrenches on the 5inch don’t work to tighten the fittings to the hydrant, so we’ll have to look into getting new wrenches or make sure the correct ones are not somewhere else.
PSI mode vs. RPM mode was also discussed.
• Training
o We went to CHS Primeland and did a walk-through of the entire facility led by Gabe Forsmann. The tour focused on the potential fire hazards and emergencies that could happen on site and the best practices to deal with them.
