December 3, 2012 Regular Meeting

The City Council met in regular session on December 3, 2012 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

City employees present were Chief Drew, Attorney Green, Public Works Director McFrederick and Clerk Kennedy.

MINUTES: The meeting was called to order and the minutes of the November 19th and November 27th meetings were approved as presented by Councilman Peterson, second by Councilman Grant. Motion carried by a unanimous vote of the Council present.

VISITORS: Richard Schmaus was not present. Chief Drew had visited with Mr. Schmaus and he had stated he’d like to trap wild animals such as raccoons, muskrats or anything with pelt value on City property. Mayor Walker visited with Fish and Game and they stated if there is a nuisance animal, they will work with the citizen having problems to trap the animals and then take the animal away. Mayor Walker is not in favor of authorizing trapping on City property. Chief Drew isn’t in favor of trapping in the City limits as there are too many factors involved – one of which is catching someone’s pet.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: The department had 34 cases written, 14 citations, 2 written warnings and 117 calls for service. The Police and Animal Control Report for November 2012 was accepted on motion by Councilman Lester second by Councilman Peterson. Motion carried by a unanimous vote of the Council present.

REMOVE TREES IN RIGHT OF WAY: On motion by Councilman Lester, second by Councilman Houger to allow Kids Klub Inc. to remove trees the two cottonwood trees in the right of way on their lot on the Southwest corner of Court and South Idaho. Motion carried by a unanimous vote of the Council present.

WALTER M. STEED & ASSOCIATES: On motion by Councilman Lester, second by Councilman Peterson to approve the pay request for the grant writing application for Phase II of the WWTP Project to Walter M. Steed and Associates for $3,647.01. Motion carried by a unanimous vote of the Council present.
