Training meeting Monday February 23, 2026
Meeting called to order 1802

• Equipment Update
o Foam is here at the city hall to be picked up
o Jarred had Dewalt electric exhaust fans quoted and for an 18” fan with 2 batteries it is $5,225 and for a 16” fan with 2 batteries it is $4,983. We will not be purchasing one yet, we’ll look around a little bit more and address it at a later meeting.
o Jarred also reported that he priced Nomex hoods and they are $43 apiece.
o City 1
 The fuel issue on the pump engine couldn’t be replicated so no work was preformed on the pump engine
o Rural 2
 The exhaust fan is fixed
• Old Business
o Clearwater Fire Academy
 Jarred went over the list of classes that are being offered and on what days.
 Everyone that is going to attend needs to get in contact with Graydon to get registered as soon as possible as registration fills up fast.
o Spring Fling
 The Grangeville EMT Association is putting on a variety of EMT classes on March 7th and 8th
• New Business
o 4 Gas Monitors
 Gabe Reported that our 4 gas monitors have reached the end of their working lives and are no longer giving accurate readings and that they need to be replaced.
 Brian tasked Gabe with getting a comprehensive list put together of new 4 gas monitors that the department could look into getting at our next meeting
o Jarred mentioned that our next meeting we are going to go do a walk through of the new County Jail

o W Cunninham
 The furnace motor was overheating reaching temperatures of 300 degrees upon arrival
 The resident informed us that they turned the breaker off to the furnace motor but after inspection it was discovered that the wrong breaker had been turned off and there was still power going to the motor
 When it comes to electricity always check and confirm the power has been isolated, if you feel uncomfortable with any electrical situation contact Avista and they can cut all power to the residence.
