Training meeting Monday January 25, 2021
- Bob called the meeting to order at 1800
- With the department members separated to comply with COVID guidelines Bob explained what the plan was for tonight’s meeting. GFD was to practice firefighting procedure on house that is to be torn down. Training will involve safe structure entry, roof venting and attic access in a fully engulfed house filled with smoke (from a smoke machine). Bob then divided the firemen into three groups of five to maintain social distancing and assigned each group a task. Each group would eventually rotate between each activity. Using full PPE and SCBA to simulate actual fire situation, firemen practiced basic fire safety procedure and best practices for fire suppression.
