Personnel Committee Minutes

Attendees: Wes Lester, Scott Winkler, Beryl Grant, Morgan Drew, Tonya Kennedy
The meeting was called to continue discussion on wages for the upcoming budget so all departments would be on the same page for 2018-19 budget.
Morgan has removed the lower steps on his proposed scale which places the starting scale around $18 and then he has 6 steps. If they are lateral, they may come in around $20, not starting at $18.
Tonya is trying to include the rest of the City on the scale, which would include library, pool, Snowhaven, Fire Chief and Assistant Chiefs. Tonya is trying to determine an actual amount for the scale, but her employees are low.
There was discussion on the Library Director; the wage needs to be increased and maybe the Assistant Director rate would increase to the Director Rate.
Discussion occurred on increasing the amount for firemen and to discuss billing the insurance companies for fires. Wes will meet with the Fire Chief to discuss these options.
Department heads will meet prior to budget meetings and have a salary scale to present during budget.
