Grangeville Centennial Library Board Meeting
Mayor’s Conference Room-215 W North St.
March 16, 2023 – 5:00 p.m.
Meeting was called to order by Bridget Arnzen at 5:08 PM. Those present: Bridget Arnzen, Betty Nafziger, Nancy Moser, and Gina Sobrero. Absent: Brennan Wright, Stacy Stone, Heidi Brown and Dylan Canaday.
Minutes: Nancy moved and Bridget seconded to approve the board minutes from the last meeting held on January 19, 2023. Motion passed.
Budget Report: Gina shared the current budget report.
Library Report: Gina reported. The Library will be hosting a community book club on 4/25. The book is I Never Thought of It That Way. We received a $1000 grant for audio and large print books. Also Gina talked about Art in the Park and story walk panels. Gina, Heidi, and Teresa attended a summer reading workshop in Coeur d’ Alene.
Old Business
1. Trustee Manual. All board members present agreed to review the Trustee Manual before the next meeting.
New Business
1. Discuss Censorship of Books. The board discussed their opinion on censorship of books. The board agreed that it’s the parent’s responsibility to be aware of books their children are checking out or reading in the library. Parents can go to the website of Idaho Commission for Libraries to find out more about censorship of books in Idaho.
