Training meeting Monday May 9, 2022
Meeting called to order 1802
- Minutes for April 25th were read and approved
- Scholarship Application for this year’s senior chosen. Jared will present at graduation.
- Discussion of hosting Fire School in Grangeville area
- State funded
- Looking at Fall of 2023, possibly the first weekend in November – not to host when Orofino is holding theirs – HS already has been approved for that date
- Will need all hands on deck if we move forward
- Will need to pick classes, lunch, put together registration packets, supply trucks
- Our dept. members would shadow apparatus – safety and knowledge of equipment
- State pays instructors
- Possibly joint venture with Cottonwood – they are interested – Name would be Camas Prairie Fire School
- Tabled until 1st meeting in August
- MOU/MOA table talk meeting update
- Burn Permit Season starts May 10th
- VEIS last training reminder – lead that makes entry it is a judgment call and reminder to report conditions/smoke/fire on radio, keep communications
- Online classes are to fill gaps where on hand training may not cover – try to complete, though it is not mandatory
- Radio Training – communications and terminology with hands on exercise
