GRANGEVILLE CITY ORDINANCE NO. 853

 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRANGEVILLE PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 8-5-5 OF THE GRANGEVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO METER RATES; INCREASING METER RATES BY A SIX PERCENT (6%) RATE; REPEALING ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND, PROVIDING FOR ORDINANCE BECOMING EFFECTIVE UPON ITS PASSAGE, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION.

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRANGEVILLE, IDAHO COUNTY, IDAHO:
 Section 8-5-5 of the Grangeville Municipal Code shall be amended to read as follows:

 Section 1.  Water rates of the City Water Department shall be as follows:

 First 260 cubic feet or under . . . . . . . . . . . . $13.17 13.96 minimum monthly charge
 261 cubic feet and over. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$ 1.41  1.49 per hundred
 2003 revenue bond retirement fee. . . . . . . . . $15.00 monthly charge

 The following rates shall apply to residents outside the City limits:

 First 260 cubic feet or under. . . . . . . . . . . . .$ 26.34 27.92 minimum monthly charge
 261 cubic feet and over. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$  2.82 2.98 per hundred.
 2003 revenue bond retirement fee. . . . . . . . . $15.00 monthly charge

 After bills are delinquent a penalty of $5.00 per bill will be charged.

 The following demand rates shall be applicable:

  For 1 inch line. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $0.780  .827
  For 1½ inch line. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  1.859  1.971

 The term “demand” means the following types of water services:  all those water services of more than three-quarter inch (3/4”) diameter.

 Section 2.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

 Section 3.  This ordinance shall become effective upon its passage, approval and publication in the Idaho County Free Press.

 Section 4.  This ordinance passed under the suspension of the rule requiring three readings on separate days at the regular meeting of the City Council held this 8th day of September, 2009.
